Count by display position
For events, multiply the number of tables by the tealights planned for each table, then add the other display areas. Keep any spare stock as a separate line so it can be adjusted without changing the main table plan.
For retail, calculate in packs. A six-piece pack and a twelve-piece pack may use the same candle, but they have different pack quantities, shelf footprints and carton arrangements. State both candles per pack and packs per order.
Check the cup inside the holder
Compare the tealight's base width and overall height with the usable space inside the votive holder. A clear-cup model, a drip-effect shape and a classic low cup may not fit the same way.
Review the candle while lit. The insert, cup texture and holder colour affect the appearance of the light. Use the actual holder that will be supplied or used at the venue.
Ask about batteries and runtime by reference
Battery types and inclusion vary. Keep the recorded battery specification beside each model and ask for inclusion to be stated in the quotation. Where a runtime is important, request test information for that candle and battery combination.
Consider the practical setup routine as well: when batteries are checked, who switches on the candles and how the products are stored between uses. Do not assume timer or remote functions unless they are confirmed for the chosen reference.
Compare packing in the same unit
A carton count can refer to pieces or sets. Read the unit with the number and confirm how many retail packs fit in the carton. Ask for updated carton dimensions if the packaging changes.
Include the model, finish, quantity, pack contents and destination in the enquiry. Add a holder-fit sample request if that check has not yet been completed.
