Start with your dining room and service hours

A restaurant that lights its tables for dinner has a different operating routine from a hotel lounge running from breakfast until late evening. Record hours per day and days per week for each area, including setup and clearing time. Separate dining tables, reception displays, private dining rooms and banquet stock rather than assigning one runtime target to the entire property.

Your brief should include table count, candles per table, holder dimensions and required arrival date. Specify whether the candles stay in position or are collected after service. A sample trial should cover a complete shift in the intended holder and ambient lighting, followed by the team's normal clearing and storage routine.

Battery-powered and rechargeable candles need different plans

Batteries are not included with any products. Most battery-operated models use AA or AAA batteries; the exact type and number depend on the model. Ask about the power system for solar models separately. Remote control is optional where available; specify your requirements.

If your brief calls for rechargeable candles for restaurants, request written confirmation of an available rechargeable model and its compatible charger. A battery-operated candle is not automatically a rechargeable candle. Charging trays, tray capacity, charging time, cycle life, spare chargers and replacement remotes are not confirmed in the published catalogue. Include these as sourcing requirements rather than assuming they come with an order.

Runtime, operating hours and replacement planning

Battery life needs a model-specific test. Ask for the battery brand and chemistry, cell count, brightness or flame setting, timer setting and test conditions alongside any runtime figure. Define the minimum acceptable light output at the end of a service shift: a light that remains on but has become too dim may no longer suit your table presentation.

For planning, divide tested usable runtime by daily operating hours and round down to complete shifts. For example, a hypothetical sample delivering 60 usable hours at six hours per evening covers ten evenings. That is a calculation example, not an AMBRILUME runtime claim. Replace the example with your approved sample result and schedule checks before the expected limit.

Estimate battery demand separately: active candles × cells per candle × planned replacement rounds. Keep a dated change log for each venue area, rotate replacement stock and follow the supplied battery instructions. For a confirmed rechargeable system, compare usable runtime against the longest shift and charging time against the available overnight window; include enough approved charging positions for the units used each day.

Match candle diameter to table space and holder fit

Measure the usable centre of the table after plates, glasses, menus and flowers are in position. Record the holder's internal width or socket size, usable depth and opening, not just its external diameter. Check access to the switch and battery compartment, stability during clearing and the view across the table from a seated position.

Compact catalogue examples include HJL-007 tealights at 3.6 × 4.5 cm and HJL-038A pillars at 5 × 6 cm. HJL-001S pillars measure 6.5 × 9.5 cm. These are product dimensions, not guaranteed holder-fit dimensions; trial the exact sample in your holder before ordering. Taller tapers and grouped pillars need a separate sightline and service-space check. There is no universal candle size for a two-person or four-person table.

A daily routine your service team can repeat

Before service, inspect the casing, battery cover and holder, check the light output and confirm the chosen timer or remote function where supplied. Test remote operation in the actual layout and with neighbouring tables present. Remote compatibility and group operation must be confirmed for each reference; do not assume one remote controls mixed models.

After service, switch units off as instructed, collect damaged or dim units for inspection, and clean only according to the model's care instructions. Store candles by reference and venue area so teams can identify the correct replacements. If a rechargeable system is approved, use only its specified charger and follow its charging and storage instructions.

For terraces, describe covered or exposed placement and request written confirmation of outdoor suitability. A decorative lantern or enclosed holder does not establish a weatherproof rating for the candle inside.

Plan spare units and repeat orders by model

Calculate working stock as table count × candles per table, then add lobby displays, banquet requirements and a separately agreed spare allowance. For example, 40 tables with two candles need 80 working units; choosing eight spare units brings that illustrative requirement to 88. This is a planning example, not a required spare percentage or an order minimum.

Set your spare quantity from handling losses, inspection failures and replenishment time. Keep the approved sample, model reference, size, finish and packing specification with the order record. For repeat orders, confirm availability and consistency against that reference. Ask about spare remotes or charging equipment only where the quoted model supports them; availability is not assumed.

Approve samples before rolling out across properties

Existing catalogue products have no sample fee. Availability and sample shipping arrangements are confirmed separately; this does not mean free shipping. Select representative samples for each holder type and venue area. Review flame appearance, usable light output, switch access and the battery or charging routine with the staff who will handle the candles.

Custom sample development normally takes about five days and carries a customisation fee, subject to the brief. Record any requested runtime test and approval changes before bulk production. Colour, finish, assortment, branding and packaging can be reviewed for selected models. New shapes and structural changes require a separate feasibility review and may involve tooling.

Work backwards from your opening or replenishment date

Typical full-container production is estimated at about 20 days after order details are confirmed. This is a production reference, not a door-to-door delivery promise. Model availability, quantity, customisation and packing affect the final schedule; smaller orders need their own confirmed lead time.

Allow separately for product selection, sample transit and testing, approvals, production, shipping and destination handling. For several hotels or an opening deadline, provide the delivery locations and required dates with quantities per location. Request a written schedule and repeat-order plan before committing your venue rollout.

Hospitality wholesale questions

How long will the candles run during restaurant service?

Runtime must be confirmed for the selected model, battery and operating mode. We do not publish a catalogue-wide hours claim. Include your longest shift in the enquiry and request a sample test that records battery specification, settings and usable light output. Use the approved result to plan checks and replacement before service is affected.

Do you supply rechargeable candles and charging trays?

The published catalogue does not confirm a rechargeable model or charging-tray system. Send the number of tables, units, operating hours and charging window so we can review your requirement. Request written confirmation of the candle, charger, tray capacity and charging time before ordering; do not treat a standard battery-powered candle as rechargeable.

Are batteries included, and which type should we buy?

Batteries are not included with any products. Most battery-operated models use AA or AAA batteries; the exact type and number depend on the model. Ask about the power system for solar models separately. Remote control is optional where available; specify your requirements.

Will a candle fit our existing restaurant holders?

Compare the exact candle dimensions with the holder's internal opening, usable depth and socket, then test a sample. External holder diameter alone is not enough. Check stability, switch and battery access, and the lit appearance through the glass or finish. The catalogue measurements help shortlist products but do not guarantee compatibility with a particular holder.

How many spare candles should a hotel order?

Start with the units actually displayed, then set a spare allowance using handling losses, the inspection routine and replenishment lead time. Keep that quantity separate in the quote. For example, 40 tables with two candles require 80 working units before spares. There is no universal spare percentage, and carton quantity should not be confused with the number your venue needs.

Can we combine models and order less than a full carton?

Minimum order: 5,000 pieces in total per order. Mixed models are welcome. Send quantities by model and size, your destination and packaging requirements. Products are supplied unbranded; custom packaging is available.

What are the sample and bulk-order lead times?

Catalogue products have no sample fee, with availability and shipping confirmed separately. Custom sample development normally takes about five days and carries a customisation fee. Typical full-container production is estimated at about 20 days after details are confirmed. Testing, approvals and transport are additional stages, and the final schedule is confirmed for your order.
